Soft initial water (from the tap - with an EC value below 0.5) requires a supply of extra calcium and magnesium.

These two substances are equally important after the main fertiliser components (nitrogen, phosphorus and potassium). If the plants are watered with too low a concentration of calcium and magnesium, burnt, yellow spots may appear on the leaves of the plant in various parts of the leaf.

Calcium and magnesium are essential for the photosynthesis process and the resulting healthy growth of the plant.
