Sodium vapour lamp set consisting of:

• 1*Ballast Analog SafeLine 400 Watt
• 1*Super HPS sodium vapour lamp 400 watts
• 1*Hammer stroke reflector (47cmx47cm) (lighting surface: 100cm x 100cm)
• Cable set for connecting the lamp (C-14 cable)

Note: The main difference between analog and digital ballasts is that digital ballasts can be dimmed. However, the highest number of watts of sodium lamp is selected for them. For example, a 600Watt digital ballast requires a 600Watt Super HPS or 600Watt metal halogen lamp (MH), even if the bulbs can be dimmed to a lower watt power. Digital ballasts are therefore particularly suitable in summer, as the heat development can be controlled by the lamp by adjusting the watt level. In addition, digital ballasts are also used during the growth phase to illuminate the plants at a low watt level, as this saves power and the plants do not need the full lamp power during the growth phase.

Do I need a metal halogen lamp for my set?

Metal halogen lamps, as well as sodium vapor lamps, are among the high-pressure lamps. Unlike sodium vapor lamps, they have an increased proportion of blue light, which makes them particularly suitable for use in growth's. The internode distances of the plant are shortened by the light of the metal halogen lamp, which makes the plant grow more bushier and shoots less into height.

A metal halogen lamp should be used in growth, especially in longer growth phases (e.g. preference from seeds) or the application of various growth optimization methods (e.g. ScroG or Sea of Green). The number of watts should correspond to the selected VSG, if a digital/dimmable VSG's is selected, the strength of the selected MH should correspond to the maximum thickness of the ballast.
